"Booker, are you afraid of God?" "No. But I'm afraid of you." EXPECT A TIDAL WAVE OF PHOTOS OF LIZ FOR THE NEXT WHILE I STILL HAVE MORE LIZ SHOOTS TO DO THIS WEEK TOO
Im gonna try to start adding more construction notes to this stuff too! This costume had a lot of firsts for me. I had never made a jacket, nor had i ever lined or interfaced anything! All of this was self taught, and seemed to go ok? I used stiffer interfacing for the cuffs which were made of satin, and the collar, and then the main jacket (excluding the sleeves was interfaced with a less stiff interfecing just to help it hold shape. The skirt is 3/4 of a circle skirt pattern, with three gathers/pleats in the back left side by the zipper. I made the blue out of micro suede, which ended up looking BEAUTIFUL, tho if not finished properly it frays like a mofo. I was sure to zigzag all my edges since i dont own a serger yet! The corset was a modified 12$ plastic boned corset from ebay, which was taken in, hand embroidered (which cant be well seen in this photo), hand painted (all the little pull marks in the satin are painted on), and then all the black detailing was done by attatching a base white bias tape followed by a slightly thinner black one, and then lace added along the top. I also changed the neckline of te corset from the original sweetheart to accomodate hers. I used a soft tulle petticoat and an a-line hoopskirt under my skirt to create the shape, and styled the wig! The necklace i got off of ebay, because it was too beautiful to pass up lmao.
I also had my finger taped down and then spirit gummed a thimble on it! it was hard to find one that would fit my tiny ass finger.
